"A Drink At The Pool" By Arizona Contemporary Artist Logan Bauer

Contrast in color interested me. The red lemonade, the green lemon, the purple background, and the warm body. The languishing hand barely touching the glass seemed to evoke a lazy hot Summer day-no cares and time seemed to stand still

"Morning Light" Landscape Painting by Contemporary Arizona Landscape Painter Logan Bauer

Early morning in the Carmel Valley. Painted this from a photograph I took in the morning at a resort in Carmel. The Sun was just coming up in the East. Shadows were good and light was glaring.

"Fall In Martinez, CA", Landscape Painting by Contemporary Landscape Painter Logan Bauer

It was a cool day in Martinez just Northeast of San Francisco. I was standing on the platform of the local railroad station. As I turned around to look back at the city/town I saw this wild combination of colors. I had to paint them and as a result "Fall In Martinez" was created according to Logan Bauer

"The Glance" Figurative Painting By Contemporary Arizona Figurative Painter Logan Bauer

I exaggerated a bit on this one. Eyes were enlarged, lips were made fuller, teeth were whitened, and hair was tainted green with a dash of shoulder on the side.

"Trail To Carrara, Italy" Landscape Painting by Contemporary Arizona Landscape Painter Logan Bauer

This a painting depicting a small portion of the town of Carrara in Western Italy. According to historians Michelangelo came here to acquire stone for use in the completion of many of his statues.
It was late afternoon and the Sun was covering the main buildings in light while much of the mountains in the background were in shadow.
A great painting opportunity

"The Golden Nugget" Landscape Painting by Contemporary Arizona Landscape Artist Logan Bauer

I saw this view as I took the elevator to the parking garage at the Golden Nugget hotel in Las Vegas. It was June 2010, late in the afternoon and the contrasts of dark and lights intrigued me. The harsh glare from the sun on the white cabana and surrounding palms seemed to provide a real unusual and interesting separation to the two reflective buildings behind them.
